The Best Big Office Chairs

What day is this again? What month are we even in? Time has moved so weirdly for the past 5 6 7 months? How long has it been now?? For so many of us this pandemic has meant creating a functional home office. And probably the most important part of a functional home office is a good desk chair! Let me tell you, in March, I did not have a good desk chair. I had a chair that I got from my last apartment's trash bin. This was a chair someone no longer wanted and put out near the bin to be thrown away. I took it to replace the office chair I got from an old office building I worked in, when the office space next to us moved out and left some furniture, sometime in 2002 I think. A LONG time ago in a galaxy far far away when I was a child and knew nothing of the pain of bad desk chairs!

So said “near the trash bin” chair (it was not IN the trash bin...I would not have taken one out of the bin...ew!) was fine when I sat on it for the occasional work from home day. But it was not an everyday chair. There’s a reason someone was throwing it out. A good chair needs to have some good back support and, of course, for those of us with larger behinds the arch of our backs land higher on a chair than other people’s. Also, a good chair needs to stay up without deflating or making you sink down behind your desk. I have been in chairs that slowly decide they no longer want to support me, and ones that decide suddenly they no longer want to support me. Either way, I ended up looking like a 3-year-old at my parent’s desk. Your chair dropping while you talk on a video conference is a site to behold for everyone.

So I started to do some research because I needed a better chair! Luckily, I mentioned my dilemma to my boss and she told me to go take my chair from the office since I wasn't using it there. Awesome! Problem solved, but I figured you all should benefit from some of my research!

Here are some of the best chairs I could find to support our lovely fat asses! I've focused on chairs that support 350+. But chairs are EXPENSIVE! So I included one that is rated at 320lbs, because it was under $100. The two really expensive chairs are supposed to be amazing and last for years. It may be worth trying got find one of them used.
